Today we discuss staying calm and at peace in this time of uncertainty through the power of love, compassion, resilience, and faith.

My first guest, Margot Schulman, is an activist, author, facilitator, and Love, Sex, & Relationship Coach with over 16 years of experience coaching individuals to create peace, freedom, and love in their lives. She joins me today to discuss strategies for building love and trust in the time of quarantine, and the opportunity to build self-love and resiliency through mindfulness practices in isolating times.

My second guest, Sam Hunter, is an author, the host of South Carolina’s Christian radio talk show, 721 Live, and the director of 721 Ministries whose aim is to help men and women find and live “Life to the Full.” He joins me today to discuss the journey from self-power to Holy Spirit power, and the importance of taking the time to respond in faith rather than react in fear in this time of uncertainty.

We Discuss:

  • Recovering from disruptive change or misfortune without being completely overwhelmed
  • Love in the time of quarantine and strategies for building love and trust in close quarters
  • Why choosing love is the courageous choice right now and what this looks like
  • Inner work for isolating times and building self-love and resiliency through mindful practices
  • Choosing love and compassion and holding space for loved ones and their unique emotions
  • Techniques, tools, and strategies for staying calm and at peace in times of uncertainty
  • The value of introspection in this time to assess how we should slow down and respond
  • Choosing to respond with faith instead of reacting out of worry, stress, and fear
  • Tapping into the power of the Holy Spirit through the journey of “See-Seek-Want-Wait”

“Think of this time as an opportunity to strengthen that relationship with yourself and with the people closest to you. This is a scary time, but you can choose how you respond. There’s so much that’s out of our control right now, but this is something that we can control.”  –  Margot Schulman

Educated and trained as a structural design engineer, Sam Hunter spent the last 20 years of his professional life in real estate and construction.

He started Hunter & Associates in 1987 as a real estate development company and developed subdivisions in the Greenville area for the next several years, before turning the company’s focus to construction and residential renovations.

At 38, Jesus turned the light on and Sam was born again. Sam Hunter has been teaching and preaching about following Jesus for twenty years.

He is the host of 721 Live radio show and the author of The Putting Green Devotional Series. Sam can be heard live Fridays 11:00-11:30 on FM91.9 and FM92.9 Christian Talk Radio.

His aim is to help men and women find and live “Life to the Full.” 721 Ministries was organized in 2004 for the primary purpose of reaching men in the marketplace. Sam speaks to men’s groups around South Carolina.

Sam has published two volumes of The Putting Green Devotional – a devotional book for men and women. He has produced two DVD curriculum series: Contentment: The Path to Peace; and Fear: Do you React in Fear or Respond in Faith?

We are all distracted to some degree, and we fill our days up with activities that keep us busy but don’t fill up our soul. As we try to work our way through this uncertainty, and this very, very fearful time, let’s look inside with introspection and take this time to say, “I’ve got a lot of stuff going on my life that suddenly I cannot do. Perhaps I didn’t need to be doing it in the first place.”  –  Sam Hunter
