Today we discuss pursuing our inner truth and making life choices from a place of courage and love.

My first guest, Jim Higdon, is the co-founder of Cornbread Hemp, the first Kentucky company to offer USDA certified organic CBD products. He joins me today to discuss the growth of the hemp industry, how the stigma around CBD products is rapidly changing, and how consumers can educate themselves about the use and benefits of CBD products.

My second guest, Lynne Golodner, is a long-time entrepreneur, the author of thousands of magazine and newspaper articles and eight books, and a teacher of writing who has a passion for telling stories of how people find meaning in the mundane. She joins me today to discuss the importance of finding our meaning and using that to drive our work, career moves, and overall happiness.

We Discuss:

  • The growth of the hemp industry and how the stigma around CBD products is changing
  • The value of USDA organic certification and what CBD products are most often used for
  • The importance of CBD lotions during times of excessive hand washing due to COVID-19
  • How consumers can educate themselves about the use and benefits of CBD products
  • How someone can pivot their career and live in more alignment with their true selves
  • Finding our meaning and how we can use it to direct us in our work and career choices

“The reason why it appears that CBD helps with a wide variety of conditions is because all of those conditions are due to imbalances in the system, or inflammation in the system. The endocannabinoid system, when triggered by phytocannabinoids, can help communicate to those systems and bring them back into balance.”  –  Jim Higdon

About Lynne:
Headshot of Lynne Golodner - Voices of Courage

Fulbright Specialist Lynne Golodner is the author of thousands of magazine and newspaper articles and eight books. A long-time entrepreneur and teacher of writing, Lynne has a passion for telling stories of how people find meaning in the mundane.

In 2016, Lynne created One Earth Writing, a 501c3 public charity that brings teens from different races, faiths, and socioeconomic origins together in writing workshops where they explore the commonalities all humans have.

As a Fulbright Specialist appointed by the U.S. State Department, Lynne speaks widely about how to make meaning, find purpose, and build a more peaceful world.

She also speaks about how to find one’s passion and purpose in life. Her speaking engagements often focus on the three key elements of her PR approach – storytelling + relationships + higher purpose = success.

Before she created her boutique public relations firm, Your People LLC, in 2007, Lynne was the Detroit News Homefinder columnist and a frequent contributor to Meredith Corporation publications about home and housing.

She has written about faith, food, family, and shelter in her journalistic career. A 2006 article in Tango Magazine about Orthodox Jewish sex continues to receive wide acclaim, and her daily blog generates passionate comments among a global readership.

I think that we all just need to slow down and take a look at how we’re living and ask ourselves if we want to be living that way.”  –  Lynne Golodner
