Today we discuss how to have and maintain amazing communication in both your personal life and business.

We’re communicating all of the time, whether it’s with our selves, our family, friends, partners, community members, or co-workers. But if you think about it, we are not always being our real, authentic, and true selves. We’re run by fears, sometimes resentment or anger, and many other contributing factors within the subconscious mind.

So I want to ask you a question because this is a really important subject. What has ineffective communication cost you? When I look back over my own life, I know that ineffective communication has cost me friends, business partners, and even relationships with family members at certain points in time. These painful experiences could have been avoided altogether if it were for the use of effective communication.

My first guest, Jill Fishman, is a leading expert in communication and connection and is the founder and president of Integrative Corporate Solutions. She specializes in diving deep into corporations and finding out how they can prioritize, fine tune, and build a program that works for both their company and all of their employees. Jill shares great insight on how to become more effective with communicating in the workplace and covers some of the biggest challenges that companies are struggling with today.

My second guest, Arvee Robinson, is The Master Speaker Trainer, an international speaker, and an author of the book Speak Up Get Clients. Everyone comes into a relationship or a job, with their own way of thinking that they’re “right.” We come in wanting to win, but how you win is understanding where the other person is coming from because they want to win, too.”  –  Jill Fishman

About Jill:

Jill Fishman is a leading expert in communication and connection.

She is the founder and president of Integrative Corporate Solutions. Jill started the company with a driving passion to target the most vulnerable areas of companies: human capital engagement.

She has a master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Jill is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with the state of California.

As a former full-time sales manager for the Nestle Corporation and full-time single parent, she realized the pressures of work/family balance and how the two directly impact each other.

Jill decided to link her corporate leadership training with a comprehensive mental health focus by obtaining a master’s degree in mental health counseling with a concentration in marriage and family therapy.

She realized that there is a direct correlation between the dynamics in family and workplace/co-worker interaction. As a trained professional, she looks at productive and dysfunctional patterns as the foundation to create change in the interactive dynamics that affect family/work relations. Jill also values the use of communication tools that help keep engagement neutral.

She has studied under Dr. Tim Evans Ph.D., LMFT in Adlerian Psychology (Social Interest Theory) and Choice Theory. Jill has studied under Dr. Sue Johnson Ph.D. in Emotion-Focused Therapy, and she has been trained in Gottman Couple’s Therapy.

Jill is able to administer several different psychological and behavioral assessments. She is also certified as a professional behavior analyst with TTI, LLC. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, California Marriage and Family Therapy and she held a board seat on the local chapter for the Tampa Bay Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.

You build confidence by knowing what to say, when to say it, how to say it, how to build rapport with your audience, how to put in the right amount of content, and how to do an invitation at the end to take your audience to the next step.”  –  Arvee Robinson
